CyberSync radio slaves – Product Review, of sorts…
September 9, 2009  |  by paul  |  BOONE, Lighting  |  , , , , ,

More of a pre-test pre-review.  Being a big fan of wireless slave flashes, I was looking for a cheap alternative to the 180 buck-a-pop pocket wizards.  Paul C. Buff in all his alien weirdness continues to put out solid affordable products.  Proven with his CyberSync radio slaves, these little puppies are a third the price of the competitor and pack the same wireless punch (with more channels, a repeater function, and a much smaller frame).

I bought 3 CSRB’s and a CST all for under $270 and started messing around with them in the office. I velcroed (is that a word?) them to my SB-800s, wrapped the sync cord around a few times, and started placing the strobes in random spots around co-worker’s desks.  I love how adding a few lights makes a really dull situation…um, less dull.  I tried to make the slaves themselves look really cool too, but only so much you can do with little black plastic boxes.
